The company was founded by Kanti Patel, a visionary with over 25 years of experience in the lodging industry. From the purchase of his first property in San Francisco in 1975, Jalaram Hotels has grown into a very successful conglomerate of hotels flying the flags of several major hotel chains.

Mr. Patel's Northeast Florida properties include the highly successful Wingate Inn at the Southpoint business center, the new Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott® on Butler Boulevard, and Best Western Orange Park, which is strategically located in the military and commercial center of Orange Park, southwest of Jacksonville. Properties in St. Augustine-Vilano Beach include The Hampton Inn Historic, Best Western Historical, Best Western Spanish Quarter, The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites Vilano Beach, Best Western Seaside Inn St. Augustine Beach, Monterey Inn, and the exciting new Hilton Inn-St. Augustine Historic Bayfront.

Plans over the next year include construction of three new Jacksonville, Florida hotels: the Holiday Inn & Suites on 9A and Baymeadows and the Courtyard by Marriott in Orange Park.
